AQUAZIP MO 660 waterproof mortar
One-component osmotic cementitious mortar for waterproofing masonry and concrete structures, suitable for contact with drinking water.
Features
Use
AQUAZIP MO 660 is a specific mortar for the rigid waterproofing of concrete or masonry surfaces, even with high positive hydrostatic pressure and with negative pressure up to 2.5 atm.
AQUAZIP MO 660 is suitable for contact with drinking water, in accordance with Royal Decree 140 of February 7, 2003.
AQUAZIP MO 660, suitable for application with a spatula, brush or spraying machine with appropriate equipment, guarantees excellent workability and adhesion even on vertical surfaces and on different types of support, such as concrete, cementitious mortars and brick walls. .
Very suitable where good resistance to negative hydraulic pressure is required.
The main fields of use are the following:
- waterproofing of drinking water tanks or tanks;
- waterproofing of irrigation canals;
- waterproofing of foundation walls or retaining walls;
- waterproofing or treatment of internal and external surfaces in basements;
- waterproofing of elevator pits, tunnels or manholes;
- waterproofing of cementitious supports subject to the presence of water even under negative pressure;
- waterproofing of fountains and ornamental ponds.
Preparation and application
Mixed
Pour the contents of a bag into a bucket with clean water, respecting the quantity indicated in the Technical Data and mix with a low-speed mechanical stirrer for no more than 3 minutes, until a fluid mixture is obtained. homogeneous and without lumps. Let the dough rest for about 5 minutes, then mix again for another 30 seconds before application.
Do not add any type of additive or percentage of water higher than indicated to the mixture.
Application
AQUAZIP MO 660 must be applied to the surface in several coats with a brush or metal spatula, making coats crossed (alternating layers in a horizontal direction with vertical layers). The total application thickness must be around 3 mm in at least 2 or 3 layers.
In case of manual application, the first coat of AQUAZIP MO 660 must be applied with a brush, allowing it to penetrate the product on the previously moistened support. Hand application allows for better mortar penetration in the porosity of the support. If the brush slides with difficulty, do not add liquid to the mixture but moisten more the support.
The next layer should be done allowing a few hours to pass after the previous one, depending on the absorption of the surface and temperature, in any case it should not be more than 24 hours.
In correspondence of corners and/or edges, apply AQUAZIP MO 660 by preliminary making scotlands. or roundings of the support. Use the mixture within 60 minutes of preparation at +20 °C. Expect a consumption of around 1.5 kg/m² per mm of thickness in case of manual application of the product (the indicated consumption refers to the placement on a flat and repaired surface of a continuous layer of product, in case of irregular supports, consumption may vary significantly).
To apply AQUAZIP MO 660 by spraying, it is necessary to use a normal spraying machine with adequate equipment. Before application, saturate the support and apply at least 2 coats of product, waiting the correct hardening time between both coats. The total thickness of AQUAZIP MO 660 must be about 3mm.
If the overlay of a coating plaster is planned, it is preferable that the surface of AQUAZIP MO 660 remains rough to promote subsequent adhesion.
