Thick repair mortar
One-component mortar for the structural repair of concrete in large thicknesses.
Class R4 according to the EN-1504-3 standard - High adhesion without the use of primer - Reinforced with fibers - High mechanical performance - Resistant to marine environments and aggressive waters - Free of chlorides - Resistant to carbonation.
Applications
- Repair of the structural integrity of reinforced concrete.
- Filling of fissures, chips, edges of pillars...
- Regularization of concrete or mortar surfaces.
- Grouting of precast.
- Suitable for repair work according to principle 3, method 3.1 and 3.3 of the UNE-EN-1504-9 standard and for structural reinforcement work according to principle 4, method 4.4 of the UNE-EN-1504-9 standard.
- On walls, ceilings and floors.
- In exposed and buried concrete.
- Indoors and outdoors.
Characteristics
- Class R4 of UNE EN-1504-3.
- Pre-dosed and ready for use.
- Easy mixing and application.
- Waterproof. Permeable to water vapor.
- Very good adhesion to most supports (concrete, stone, mortar, brick).
- Fiber reinforced.
- High mechanical resistance.
- Good resistance to freeze-thaw cycles and deicing salts.
- Good resistance to abrasion.
- It is not corrosive, flammable or toxic.
- Fire classification A1 and A1 fl.
Employment characteristics
- Dough life 20 - 30 minutes.
- Application thickness from 1 to 5 cm.
- Start of setting > 3 hours.
- Final setting < 6 hours.
Support quality
- Concrete: Concrete shall be free of dust, loose or poorly bonded material, surface contaminants, and materials that may reduce bond or prevent suction or wetting of repair materials.
- Reinforcement: Remains of oxides, mortar, dust and other materials that may prevent adhesion or contribute to corrosion must be removed.
Support Preparation
- Concrete: Damaged and deteriorated weak concrete and, where necessary, sound concrete should be removed by suitable mechanical means.
- Armor: Surfaces should be prepared using abrasive blasting or high pressure water techniques.
- Bond Primer: Normally no primer is needed on a properly roughened prepared surface. When priming is not required, a previous surface moistening of the support is necessary. The surface must not be allowed to dry before applying the repair mortar. The surface should acquire a dark matte appearance, without shine and without puddling. When a bonding bridge is necessary, apply a bridging resin. The subsequent application of the mortar must be done fresh on fresh, when the bonding bridge has not yet hardened.
- Reinforcement protection: On the steel, apply a thick layer of anti-rust primer with a brush, avoiding staining the concrete. Let dry completely (minimum one hour).
How to use
- Apply Ferbalca Monofer Rep-3 with 3.5 - 4 liters of clean water per bag, with a slow electric mixer (500 rpm) for two minutes, until a plastic consistency is obtained, but without it falling off the palette.
- Apply Ferbalca Monofer Rep-3 with a trowel, filling and compacting the area or repair as much as possible, in successive layers of 0.5 to 5 cm. The coat should have started to harden before the next one is applied.
- The finish is done by troweling Ferbalca Monofer Rep-3 with a suitable tool (plastic trowel, wood trowel, porex,...) or smoothing with a trowel.
Observations
- Do not apply Ferbalca Monofer Rep-4 on plaster or painted surfaces.
- Do not make thicknesses of more than 10 cm per application.
- Application temperature: from +5ºC to +35ºC (measured on the support).
Performance
18 kg +/- 3 kg/m2 and cm thick.
