Stone textured mortar
Lightweight single-layer mortar with textured finish and sprayed stone for waterproofing and decoration of facades.
BEYEM B-P is a lightened monolayer mortar for waterproofing and decoration of facades, formulated with high-strength white cement, selected granulometry aggregates, organic and inorganic additives, light aggregates and mineral pigments. It allows hygrometric exchange between the substrate and the exterior environment. Specially indicated for finishing with projected stone.
ADVANTAGES
Manual or mechanical application. Projectable.
Good mechanical resistance.
Long open time for stone projection.
Applicable directly on the enclosure.
Lightweight. Excellent workability.
Textured finish and projected stone.
Impermeable to rainwater and permeable to water vapor.
Low maintenance.
Interior and exterior application.
New construction and rehabilitation.
Mass colored. Wide range of colors.
USES
Mineral coating with projected or textured stone finish for decoration and waterproofing of facades, brick and concrete block enclosures in new construction and rehabilitation. Applicable on interior and exterior walls and ceilings, both manually and mechanically.
SUPPORTS
Useful substrates for the application of BEYEM B-P are:
Brick or ceramic block wall
Concrete block
Concrete (treated with Beyem Union Mortars type bonding bridge)
Conventional cement or lime/cement based substrates
SUPPORT PREPARATION
The aforementioned supports must be sound, clean, free of paint residues, poorly adhered parts or substances that may hinder adhesion. All the supports must have the adequate flatness and present a surface of adequate porosity and roughness.
In case of heat or wind, it is convenient to moisten the support and to wait for the disappearance of the water film as well as to moisten the mortar 24 hours after the application.
Do not apply on cellular concrete, plaster, paints, metal surfaces, plastic and materials of low mechanical resistance.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Knead BEYEM B-P with 6.5-7.5 liters of clean water per 25kg bag manually or with an electric mixer until a homogeneous, creamy and lump-free mixture is obtained. Allow to stand for 5 minutes before application.
For application by spraying machine, it is necessary to establish the optimum water/mortar ratio according to the machine used (section and length of the hose) and the external weather conditions. It is important to keep constant the variables that can affect the properties of the sprayed mortar (distance to the wall, angle of application and water ratio).
Spread the mortar with the trowel (in case of manual application or with an electric mixer) or spray it creating cords leaving an average thickness of 10-16 mm after marking the cut-outs on site with PVC beads. Press to ensure adhesion and expel the air contained in the pores. Regulate the applied material to regulate the thickness and smooth the surface.
Spray the aggregate within 10 - 40 minutes after application. Press the aggregate with the trowel to achieve a more uniform penetration of the aggregate into the mortar (wait until the trowel is no longer stained by the mortar to push the aggregate). Aggregate and mortar should be at the same level.
Textured finish: When hardening has begun, the finish should be done with the help of a mold or roller and a release agent to prevent the mortar from sticking to the mortar.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Respect in each mixing the proportion of water indicated.
Do not apply below 5ºC and do not apply above 30ºC.
Do not apply with risk of frost, rain, strong winds or direct sun.
In exteriors, do not apply on horizontal or inclined surfaces exposed to rain.
Protect the upper edges of the coating against the penetration of rainwater.
For thicknesses greater than 16 mm, apply the product in two coats, leaving a rough surface on the first coat, in order to facilitate the adherence of the second coat.
The minimum finishing thickness of the mortar must be at least 10 mm to effectively contribute to the waterproofing of the facing.
It is necessary to reinforce the mortar with mesh in the singular points where tensions accumulate (lintels, slabs, doors, union between supports of different nature...).
Delimit the work panels by means of beads.
Respect expansion joints.
For supports of very high absorption, such as cellular concrete, or of very low absorption, it is necessary to apply a previous primer.
Variations of the climatic conditions during the application, as well as the application in several phases can produce changes of tone.
