Lightened single-layer mortar with scraped finish for waterproofing and decorating facades.

Colors Beyem mortar BR
Quantity

BEYEM B-R is a lightweight single-layer mortar for waterproofing and decorating facades, formulated based on high-resistance white cement, selected granulometry aggregates, organic and inorganic additives, lightweight aggregates and mineral pigments. It allows hygrometric exchange between the support and the external environment.

Advantages

Manual or mechanical application. Projectable.
Good mechanical resistance.
D.I.T Plus issued by the Ietcc.
Applicable directly on the enclosure.
lightened. Excellent workability.
Scraped and rustic finish.
Impermeable to rainwater and permeable to water vapour.
Low maintenance.
Indoor and outdoor application.
New construction and rehabilitation.
Mass colored. Extensive color chart.

Uses

Mineral coating with a scraped and rustic finish for decoration and waterproofing of facades, brick walls and concrete blocks in new construction and rehabilitation. Applicable on interior and exterior walls and ceilings, both manually and mechanically.

Supports

The useful supports for the application of BEYEM B-R are:

Brick or ceramic block wall
Concrete block
Concrete (treated with a joint bridge type Beyem Unión Morteros)
Conventional supports based on cement or lime/cement

Support preparation

The previously indicated supports must be healthy, clean, free of traces of paint, poorly adhered parts or substances that may hinder adhesion. All supports must have adequate flatness and present a surface with adequate porosity and roughness.

In case of heat or wind, it is advisable to moisten the support and wait for the water film to disappear, as well as moisten the mortar 24 hours after application.

Do not apply on aerated concrete, plaster, paint, metal surfaces, plastic and materials with little mechanical resistance.

How to use
Knead BEYEM B-R with 5.25-6.25 liters of clean water per 25kg bag manually or with an electric mixer until a homogeneous, creamy and lump-free mixture is obtained. Let stand 5 minutes before application.

For application by spraying machine, it is necessary to establish, depending on the machine used (section and length of the hose) and the external weather conditions, the optimum water/mortar ratio. It is important to keep constant the variables that can affect the properties of the sprayed mortar (distance from the wall, angle of application and proportion of water).

Spread the mortar with the trowel (in the case of manual application or by means of an electric mixer) or project it creating beads, leaving an average thickness of 12-15 mm after marking the parts on site using PVC beads. Press to guarantee adhesion and expel the air contained in the pores. Regulate the applied material to regulate the thickness and smooth the surface. When hardening has begun, finishing is done with the aid of a scraper (the correct setting point is when the material does not adhere to the tines of the scraper). To avoid color variations it is important to always respect the same setting point.

The time elapsed until the final finish of the coating (scraping, troweling, smooth...) will depend on the support, temperature and environmental humidity. The following day, the surface will be brushed with a soft bristle brush to remove any loose particles.
Important indications

Respect the proportion of water indicated in each mix.
Do not apply below 5ºC or above 30ºC.
Do not apply with risk of frost, rain, strong winds or direct sun.
Outdoors, do not apply on horizontal or inclined surfaces exposed to rain.
Protect the upper edges of the coating against the penetration of rainwater.
For thicknesses greater than 15 mm, apply the product in two layers, leaving a rough surface on the first layer, in order to facilitate the adherence of the second.
The minimum finishing thickness of the mortar must be at least 10 mm to effectively contribute to the waterproofing of the facing.
It is necessary to reinforce the mortar with mesh at singular points where tensions accumulate (lintels, floors, doors, joints between supports of a different nature…).
Delimit the work panels by beading.
Respect expansion joints.
For supports with very high absorption, such as aerated concrete, or with very low absorption, it is necessary to apply a prior primer.
Variations in climatic conditions during the application, as well as the application in several phases, can produce changes in tone.
